Many have been waiting for the release of Electric Jesus, the first musica-comedy about a Christian hard rock band from the 1980s.

I remember many years ago when I watched the movies Almost Famous and Rockstar, I was so fascinated with these films, and I was thinking that there must be a similar movie but about the story of a Christian hard rock band, after an exhaustive search, I realized something, there was no film inspired in a Christian rock or metal band.

Director Chris White, whose previous credits include showbiz comedy Cinema Purgatory and Star Trek Continues, has made the first musica-comedy based on a Christian rock band from the 1980s.

Electric Jesus is based on a fictional Christian band called 3:16. Written and directed by Chris White, whose previous credits include showbiz comedy Cinema Purgatory and Star Trek Continues, it has touched the hearts and nostalgia of fans of the bands that established Christian rock and metal music during the 1980s.

The film tells the story of a young metal band called 3:16 traveling on the road in 1986 dreaming of becoming as big as Stryper.

Electric Jesus, is also a tribute to the Christian rock and metal scene of the 80s (mainly) and 70s, the movie mentions and shows posters of bands like Stryper, 77s, Steve Taylor, Saint, Daniel Band, Rez Band, Larry Norman, Phil Keaggy, Philadelphia, Messiah Prophet, Barnabas and all the ones you can imagine before 1986, so this is a must see movie if you have been a fan of Christian rock and metal, it is not a recommendation, I am telling you that you must see it.

In this year, the film has been screened in different film festivals and has already received different awards such as best film, best director, and many more.

Recently, it has been announced that the film will be screened on September 3rd at Audiofeed music festival and the following day, September 4th, the guys starring the band 3:16 will be on stage. Finally, the film will be available digitally on November 2.

A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to interview director Chris White, it was exciting to learn many details about the film, beyond being a tribute to the Christian bands of the 80s, the film also has an inspiring message that can bless many young people. Wait for the interview in the next few days for the next edition of the magazine, I am very excited.
