Classic Christian Rock Zine, is an independent webzine that started in March 2011 as a Facebook page. Later we would have a presence on Twitter and Instagram, in 2013 we launched our own website where we started writing our own articles.
As the name of our site indicates, our webzine shares articles related to artists who fit directly or indirectly with the phrase "Classic Christian Rock", some of the most prominent ones such as Petra, Larry Norman, DeGarmo & Key, Stryper, Mylon Lefevre, Love Song, Deliverance, Stryper, Bloodgood, Phil Keaggy, Bride, Servant, After The Fire, Barren Cross, Whitecross, Guardian, Resurrection Band, Jerusalem, Randy Stonehill, The Mind Garage, Barry Mcguire, Daniel Amos, Sweet Comfort Band, and many more.
We are (as far as we know) the only webzine that shares news and articles exclusively from classical rock artists with Christian lirycs. This has made us a reference point for many of these artists.
Over the past five years we have had an average of 2000 visits per day, and more than 1 million visits from over 150 countries. In October 2017, Classic Christian Rock Zine was ranked 15th out of the top 100 Christian music sites and blogs on the Internet.
Without a particular host city, Our Staff is made up of people who live in different cities and countries, who share the same faith and passion for Christian music and its message, dedicating themselves for several years to sharing and researching about this musical environment independently for radio stations, blogs, and magazines.
His first language is Spanish, so don't judge him when you read a mistake (^^). Born in 1992 in a Christian home, too young but with too much love for music, especially Christian rock. His favorite artists are Stryper, Larry Norman, Petra, Bride, Barren Cross, Holy Soldier, Love Song, Agape, and he has a fascination with the beginnings of Christian Rock in the 60s.
Pastor Wildman is a follower of Jesus, a husband, and father. He has served in full time ministry for over twenty years. He grew up in an era where Christian Contemporary Music was just starting to hit the main-stream (1980's). This music was instrumental in his personal discipleship. Bands like Petra (his all time favorite), Whitecross, Barren Cross, Idle Cure, Holy Soldier, Messiah Prophet, Sacred Warrior, Stryper etc. not only formed his musical taste but also were the avenues God used for salvation and continued
This also motivated him to be a musician himself and started playing guitar at the age of 13. As a guitarist he has played in several "backyard" bands throughout high school and college and still plays as a hobby today while also teaching his children. His top three favorite guitarists are: Rex Carroll (Whitecross), Phil Keaggy and Bob Hartman(Petra). The three things he has a heart for which he loves to share with those around him are Jesus, Music (Rock/Metal) and Guitars!
His passion for rock and metal began in the ‘80s with Stryper. In addition to the Yellow & Black Attack, he loves classic bands like Whitecross, King James, and Bloodgood, newer acts like Chaotic Resemblance, Angelic Forces, and Place of Skulls, and gets excited every time he interviews a Christian musician.
He is an avid blogger and loves sharing the gospel by using illustrations from music, literature, movies, or anything else that will help people better understand the message of Jesus. He believes that rock and metal are the best forms of music to proclaim boldly the truth of God in Jesus Christ.
